I was cleaning out a closet this past weekend and came across some old magazine clippings dealing with Akina. Among them was this photo, so I thought I would share it. I don’t know what magazine, but it’s probably from October 1985 or thereabouts (the accompanying writeup references her single "Solitude").
There are no plans for any calendar for next year…so let us relive this beautiful calendar from 1988…an ad in the newsletter to promote it..how nice!!

Without much surprise (that’s with a lot of confidence), both 明菜ちゃん’s nominated songs: DESIRE and 飾りじゃないのよ涙は are ranked in the top 100 songs of the NHK 紅白歌合戦 スキウタ survey.
The confirmed list of singers for Kouhaku will take reference from this survey results and try to invite the singers onto the show this year.
A few interesting notes to share:
1. As rumoured, Yuming(松任谷由実) has been approached to perform on 紅白 this year. And in the results of the survey, her 守ってあげたい is ranked within the top 100.
2.山口百恵 remains to be the eternal idol : いい日旅立ち,プレイバックPart2、秋桜

Akina Nakamori sings Max’s “Grace of My Heart” on “Yoru no Hippare”. a tad off-key on certain portions, but she looked gorgeous! she gave a funny expression after she finished singing the song ‘cos she was nervous!
