After reading Danny’s self deprecating remarks on his blog, I pondered for some time if I should include this. It is not your expectation that someone from VAMP does, and even though it does put you in the centre of attention, I think a healthy form of love and attention is always necessary for the growth and nuturing of the soul.
I am doing this and saying it because I want to, not because I have to, and I beseech those who write comments to do so as well. Birthdays are and always should be joyous occasions. We can’t expect our friends to remember it but it’s sweet when they do. Since some of us are new friends of yours, we might not remember it as well, so this is a date that will be recycled in our calendars in years to come.
Do not hate yourself because there is already to much of that in this world. Learn to love yourself and carry on giving. Allow others the opportunity to give love to you as well because it is only through the process of giving, that true joy emerges.
You have been a generous, funny and supportive friend. Allowing us the opportunity to contribute to this site instead of sole administration, you have given us a wonderful present. Contributing your funny comments and your sunny personality helps brighten the gloomiest of days, so never forget your wonderful gift. Lastly, I have seen you giving support to your friends, so all in all, you are a wonderful friend.
If you have to harbour on the pain, then think of the pains your mother took to give birth and the people who took care of you. Let this day be a day of rejoice for your existence in this world and an acknowledgement for their efforts. Thank them and appreciate them for they have done a good job. I first thanked my mother a few years ago and she was moved to tears, and I think it’s time we thought of them on our birthdays too. My grandmother is no longer here, but I know she knows from her heart that I thank her every human day I have left in my life.
Happy Birthday Danny! Wipe away your years and sorrow, my dear friend. It’s a sunny day out there waiting for you …
