Thanks Hamu/Tien. Mmmmmm….I have to say that the video is pretty uninspiring. It feels like one of those karaoke videos……I guess I’m just not a huge fan of those music videos that do not feature the singers.

  2. DannyBunny says:

that was the single most blase video i’ve seen in the last two years. why did they even bother shooting a PV like this? what sort of mileage nor interest did they expect to grab with a thousand too many pirouttes in 4 minutes and 32 seconds?

apart from Kisei, all her other videos are below national standard.

  3. Jamez says:

I guess we were all yearning to see Akina after that glimpse of her at the beginning, and it is natural to feel the disappointment.

  4. Patrick says:

What does PV stand for? Usually, Music video is MV.

I wonder if the object of Akina’s video is for broadcast in TV shows or for Karaoke.

    Thanks for sharing the video.

  5. 乱火 says:

PV means promotional video, if I am not wrong.

This MV is pretty boring, w/o akina.

  6. Suzy says:

thanks HAMU for sharing. shame on you AKINA for doing this piece of shit. GOOD SONG though.

  7. Kosuke Atami says:

PV [PROMOTIONAL VIDEO] For THE New SINGLE.

    :D

  8. CJ says:

I guess it might appeal to ballet fiends.

Otherwise, it really serves no purpose.

(Thanks for giving us a chance to take a look at it anyway, Hamu.)

  9. Kenji says:

Awwww… I really like the song! but the pv was such a disappointment!

  10. DannyBunny says:

erm, truth is i did ballet and i think i dance better than that. the choreography was bad. it was just a series of non-stop pirouetting.

  11. hamu says:

I agree w DannyBunny. Meaningless PV (promotional video). Guess we all are expecting something more sinerce. I don’t even see any storyline, as "promised" in the news article.

  12. DannyBunny says:

haha, well there IS a storyline! Akina appears at the beginning of the MV in all black right? then the other lady started dancing in all white. the all white lady is actually a personification of Seiko. the little girl aspires to be a dancer and couldn’t decide to dance like Akina or Seiko. eventually the black pair of ballet shoes was shown – did the girl wear or ditch the black shoes? ahhhhhh….

and there’s also a moral of the story! —-> dun make meaningless MVs. cos the fans will be very embarrassed and disappointed.

    hahaha!

but Akina, i still love you! i just think you have a horrible creative team!

  13. hamu says:

Pardon me, but I got a feeling that it IS Akina who refuse to appear in the PV. She is so conscious about her age and look. I just hope the cover art of "Destination" is descent x(_ _)x

  14. Jamez says:

Let’s remember that UJ didn’t even want to spend any money on this PV. I think it took quite a bit for them to be convinced that they needed to spend any money on it.

I think 神田うの was "友情客串" and might be paid peanuts, if any at all. Plus she was the only professional ballerina in "Primadam", so we can understand the low budget results.

Akina doesn’t seem to grasp the idea of good PVs, as evident by her past efforts. Even the idea for the "Days" PV, which seem to come from her, was a real disappointment, but I still think it comes down to budget and a creative team.

Hamu promoted a Kyon2 PV recently which didn’t feature the dancer’s face, which she thought was artistic. I seriously think and know that that wasn’t even Kyon2. So, it’s two strikes in a row for Hamu … the cover for the single and the PV. So, Hamu chan, can you pray for a full body cover for "Destination" now? ;-)

  15. hamu says:

Well…. I’m worried that the cover art for "Destination" will be a pic of some station/railroad….
So if strick three for me, then the jacket of the new album will be beautiful~~~~
    X(_ _)X

  16. CJ says:

Whether the PV (or MV, or whatever you want to call it) is big budget or low budget, it should, at the very least, feature the artist!

Akina at least appeared in a more substantial way in most of her past videos (whether they were good or bad).

This one really has nothing going for it.

  17. Jerry says:

Maybe Akina is doing her turn of "Listen without Prejudice", a la George Michael?

  18. DannyBunny says:

an MV sans the singing artiste isn’t anything new. that can itself be very tastefully done with some creativity.

i’m glad the MV elicted such a furore!! i hope Akina reads this.

  19. Patrick says:

MV of Yoru no Dokokade had minimal Akina in it but I thought it was very effective. My love for the song was contributed by that MV although I can see that it was not really a good choice to promote the single.

  20. CJ says:

Of course, you’re right Danny. An MV minus the singer is indeed nothing new.

With some creativity, I suppose they can be done well.

    Considering our particular focus, though…

Paired against a chance to see Akina, I know I’d always favor more footage of her, lame MV or not!
