Answers to questions:
q1: debuted in the top 20, if i’m not wrong.
q2: akai tori negata fly away.
q3: i was introduced to akina nakamori by default, back in 1983. a classmate of mine has a yoshie kashiwabara album, and i loved it. went to the local record store to buy a tape for myself, and they were out of stock. the lady suggested i buy this akina nakamori album instead, prologue. liked the cover, so i bought it. i fell in love ever since. i took japanese language classes (never amount to anything because i was too young and ignorant) because i love japanese songs so much, triggered by akina’s music. i moved to new york beginning of 2000, and when i was poor and down after sep 11, her songs pulled me through, especially the 1st utahime album. after more than 20 years of her music, i can truly say, her voice touches me the most, still. i may not know what she’s singing about all the time, but the feelings injected in her voice is enough to send me to a place i’m familiar with, not so alone.
Yes, Q2 is indeed a give-away. Ha! Ha! Have fun and Happy Belated Birthday to Akina on this board, though we did celebrate by singing mostly your songs in our Karaoke session yesterday!
