I have to say that, singing-wise, the new version of 帰省 does not sound too promising……. It just sounds so forced.
That was my impression. Like 赤い花。
In Hong Kong, it’s release already.
all the preview tracks sounded strained. argh.
Dan,
I think that’s her voice now……
It’s sad but it’s something that we have to just take it. I guess.
Akina’s voice has been strained since several last concert. I have said many times that I hope she will get professional help but I don’t think that’s going to happen. Therefore, I will just take it as it is.
I do love the sound of new version of SOLITUDE though.
BTW, Happy Hamu’s blog has been disappeared for a while. No more Happy Hamu??
i think Happy Hamu is Busy In Hibernation Hamu now. lol.
yah, i know her voice has altered due to ageing, her excessive drinking and smoking habits, and perhaps using a different singing technique to hit the notes just continues to aggravate it.
having said that, i do like her voice on her new works. just when it’s juxtaposed right next to her classics recorded some 20 years ago, i can’t help but make comparisons, and i’m afraid i’ll always end up with "her singing was so effortless back then".
i think kisei is quite good actually. i kinda like akai hana, and i think it sounds like a good remake (from the sample track at least).
