Um, so did she prepare them herself lol? Wouldn’t consider them that fascinating unless they have been touched by the hands of the diva! Fans most likely wouldn’t even dare to eat such gems – they would just sniff them to grab the few possible scents of her that might still be there.
I don’t think they can be kept. There is a running joke between my Japanese friend and I that Japan does not allow tourists to bring food souvenirs back from their country … they give it mould.
Which is what happened when I bought some red bean glutinous cakes from some prefecture outside Tokyo. Since I was aware that red bean cakes are one of my Mum’s favourites, I decided not to eat them, and instead saved them for my Mum. Unfortunately, when I finally unwrapped them in Singapore, they were all mouldy. 残念です。
So much for my filial piety.
rice cakes with akina’s name on them!

too yummy to indulge
I could never understand why people would use food as promotional items, especially in this case. For one thing, it won’t last and because of its sentimental value, you wouldn’t eat it anyway. It just sits there in your closet. That just seems like a waste of food, when we know there is famine going on in other parts of the world. I suppose you could keep it in a freezer and take it out and have a look every now and then, but then what?
