Your exquisite presence has graced our lives, many a times providing a form of escapade from the horrors of my teenage and growing years. You were like a constant friend, providing friendly support through your music and bringing me along your various adventures as you confidently explore new challenges. Look at the colours that you have added to the palettes of our lives. I can see hope, support, anticipation, exhilaration, glory, desire etc.

For all the contributions that you bring to the musical and our individual worlds, I want to thank you, on behalf of everyone who have been touched by you. I know I speak for most by wishing you plenty of love, happiness, support and prosperity, so that you will always find inspiration to continue what you do best. Thank you for the glory days … Happy Birthday!

Frankly speaking, I was more besotted by your great looks rather than your music during the heydays. I suspected I must have accidentally played ‘Fushigi’ back then on some blunt equipment and that album really put me off to no end. I gave you about 30 seconds and not another chance after that. I even went around telling my friends that you are no more than a pretty face.

But maybe the seed you planted in me more than 20 years ago is starting to flower now, and I am feeling a bit apologetic for bad-mouthing you in a slightly visceral way. No, you are definitely not just a pretty idol, you are an ever endearing and true blue DIVA. There is no denying that we all share a close affinity with you which we hope will last for a long time to come.

I sincerely thank the VAMPires and other bloggers for creating this blog, without your effort I would never be conditioned into checking out Akina’s music again (hehe….and rediscover Seiko).
