This is a very simple contest. All we want to see is evidence of your purchase of 艶華！
Simply email us a photo of you with your copy( or copies!) of 艶華！Tell us how many copies you bought ( version A,B,Normal version, cassette, the compilation) !
The entry with the most creativity (for the photo) will win a special prize (from 乱火’s collection of Akina goods excluding DVDs) !
Also, there will be 3 sets of Akina DVDs ( A,B,C) to be won! Each set contains different video footage of Akina, and the winner will get to choose what he/she wants!

My little wife went to Japan and brought me back my very own version of Enka! She knows what an Akina fan I am, so she got me a copy.
For those of you who use MS Windows only, my Akina page is an xhtml attempt that works in browsers like Mozilla and Opera. I am not sure how it works in IE…whatever. I will have to fix the page to work in all browsers but I am not sure how to do it right now.

Good to see another entry in this contest. I see that your wife is Japanese. Does she share the same passion as you or does she not like Japanese music very much like some of my other Japanese friends who are residing in Sydney.
They make me look like such a native Japanese sometimes. I am definitely the Jpop encyclopedia amongst them all. Ha! Ha!
Oops! I forgot to warn you not to get your hopes too high on the DVD because most of the videos are shockingly bad, and this is coming from someone who has adored Akina for over 23 years.
After you have gotten the multi-zone DVD player which allows you to play all regions (they are pretty cheap now), you should get her full concerts. That will blow you over!
No Jamez, alas my wife is not a jpop fan like me. I am just happy she accepts my passion for Akina. She bought me Enka and the camera I used to take the picture. She did give me a couple of funny looks when I built the koi pond that Akina is pictured on.
I may look for a region free DVD player after I fail at gettting a new PC-DVD player to work for Japanese videos. I think it can be done on a Linux computer.
I got my page to work on all browsers. I managed to scramble my references to blow up the pictures in the process. And to think I have fun listening to Akina on live365 and messing with web pages.

It is official. My little darling likes Enka. I can’t get her to wear a Kimono out to dinner but she will listen to Enka. She tells me Enka is kimono music.
For some odd reason she associates Enka to Morning Musume. Which always makes me say "ha ha ha". Morning Musume always cracks me up.
Hmmmm … Is that a compliment? Enka and Morning Musume in the same sentence?
I am happy that she likes it. My Japanese friend who has an Aussie partner liked it too, and his Aussie partner says "There’s a kimono hidden in every Japanese heart closet. Since I must be born a Japanese in my past life (everyone says so), I can see that too and Enka does bring that out in me.
Hopefully, you will get your kimono dream come true one day.
Haha, Jamez, my wife really does have a kimono hidden in her closet. Houses do run a bit small here in the San Francisco bay area. Large by Tokyo standards but small for American standards.
I think one of the Morning Musume girls released an Enka CD. You must know the famous "Morning Musume, ha, ha, ha" ditty. They may not have the elegance of Akina, but they sure make me smile.
