F.U.N. Akina
It is a travesty that the image of Akina is usually linked with sadness because the media prefers to to focus on her “dramas”, ignoring the fact that she can actually be a very fun person.
She is one of the few singers I know (besides 河合奈保子) that can be seen happily singing along to songs of her peers while watching or dancing in the background. I chanced upon these two videos yesterday on Youtube and I just couldn’t wait to share it with all of you because she is having so much fun! I felt so happy watching her singing, dancing and executing some “so bad it’s good” moves with some of my favourite 80′s pop idols.
These days will never resurface again … sadly … but thankfully, we have these memories to exhibit the “recklessness” and fun of youth. Hope you have as much fun watching as I did. This is definitely one of the most fun I have seen Akina had. Those old glory days … Oh! And I forgot to add that she looks so beautiful too.
歌姫伝説〜90’s BEST〜 Cover Art
ladies and gentlemen, just how wrong can an album cover get? brace yourselves for a major disappointment. the cover art for 90′s Best has been released on the Universal Music Official Site, and i’m afraid to say it’s super duper hideous. very circa “Everlasting Love” when she sported one of her most outdated hairdos in history, even for back in the 90s. image colour looks washed out and the terrible choice of fonts has to be the last straw. see the disaster for yourself after the jump.
now if you’d excuse me, i’d like to go hide in one corner and cry. Akina, please, don’t do this to us. i feel so offended.

since when was there an official karaoke video for 愛撫? this looks authentic cos Akina actually mouths the lyrics. but the arrangement sounds so MIDI-ish.

it’s “Sand Beige”! filed under the “Oldies” section. last month Kenji said he saw Enka’s “天城越え” listed. glad to see some “chart” action there.
