A friend in Chiemi
From what we can see on the older archived footage from Yoru Hit or Kouhaku, Akina’s closest friends from the 1982 Super Idols Group seem to be Kyon2, Hidemi and to some extent Hayami Yu. Chiemi has always seemed slightly in awe and never particularly close, so it is a very pleasant surprise to see her blog her well wishes to Akina. The personal message that she mentions in her post about her exchanges with Akina at the Old Nihon Tere Elevator Hall are cute and real. Like Chiemi, we wish Akina well and hope to see her smile once again.

What a great 45th Birthday it is for Akina’s fans! First she threw a rather big scale press conference for the Uta Hime Densetsu 2 Pachinko Machine “CR中森明菜 歌姫伝説 〜恋も2度目なら〜” by Daiichi, and then she announced the shocker which is a brand new tie-up song “Crazy Love” which will be exclusively distributed via mobile/ketai networks in Japan! From my understanding, the 3:30 minute dance track will be distributed on Recochoku for AU, Yahoo and I-mode phone users. Softbank users are left out in the cold. Brrrr~!

We’ve heard a low quality rip of the song, and it’s really up-tempo and current!! Starts off with a reminescence of Madonna’s Hung Up bassline. It’s an excellent track and I’d say single material, so I am sure this isn’t some “leftover” song from the “DIVA” session. All these must have been preorchestrated a long time ago. Much as I like surprises, I wonder why she loves harbouring her developments and plans under tight wraps only to unleash a tidal wave on her fans lately. She could have milked this alot more by building up to the release of the track (which by the way, is available for digital download starting from today 13th July).
On the track: Vocals are strong and confident. She sounds extremely adept and comfortable with this genre of music. I really fantasize about her having a treasure trove of tracks along this line – a “DIVA Part 2″ will sell like hotcakes if given proper marketing. all you need is another 9 tracks like this, throw in a couple of remixes, plus a megamix, and if budget allows – a quality music video!! “Aprodite” would have made a brilliant follow up album title, but Kylie has already snatched that! Too bad. Kekeke. Personally, I think this current team of musicians working with her is a definite keeper!
Oh, I must add that she is looking really genki! Bright smiles and great get up and hair!! Love those stocking and shoes!! For once I didn’t cringe at her choice of wardrobe at a press conference.
Great great day for all of us!! And to Akina, THANK YOU and on behalf of all Akina fans – we wish you a great and fulfilling year ahead!! Hope you had a blast!

“DIVA” Live at Countdown Show
Happy New Decade everyone!!
So, the biggie in town is that Akina sang “DIVA” (and TWICE!!!) at the Countdown Show, even though she had earlier declined stubbornly to entertain the audience at the X’mas Show with that song saying it’s technically difficult to sing due to the many layerings of the track. well, well, what do we know? somewhere between X’mas and 31st, she decided it’s humanly do-able to sing it. lol.
the moral of the story is go for the Countdown Show, and not the X’mas show, if you have to choose between the two. it’ll be the same show plus a possible surprise, and in this instance, twice over. provided she’s in a good mood.
anyway, for those who missed out on the priced moment (and that includes yours truly who had decided, to my own detriment, to boycott this year’s show) – we’ve got the live recording which is now available in VAMP NETWORK. please pardon the audio quality.
JIVE 2009 MIX
hey guys!!! oh my god, 2009 is going to be over so soon! it’s been a terribly bad year for so many people on so many fronts, and i can’t wait for the year to be done with!!! but it’s also a great year for Akina fans with an original release DIVA – and a FANTABULOUS one too which satisfied every Akina-fan-cell in me.
this year we also did alot of bootleg remixes, and we’re going to end 2009 on a super high note with a remix of JIVE, taken off her 1988 dance album “Femme Fatale”. JIVE’s a personal favourite since I started listening to her round about 1988 cos it’s fast, and has a fierce melody cum tempo! i’m not sure which are your favourite remixes outta the lot we’ve done, but i really like this one, and i wanna share the Christmas cheer with all of you. it’s amazing how so many of us have come together from all over the world, through our common love for Akina. for those of you whom i haven’t met, that’s something we can look forward to someday.
this is a remix with so much energy, and i hope you guys can blast this out loud, chase away the cob webs of this year, and be renewed for a great 2010 ahead. music can move mountains. and so can love.
