Akina on 「笑っていいとも!」

okay guys, i made some screen grabs from the programme (which hopefully show her in a favourable light – she does look a wee bit “dry” and haggard for most part of the clip – but i think it’s that horrigible hair!! she musta just got outta bed, or lost her brush, or both). the poster looks decent from afar but that’s due to the neat grid layout. just make sure you blur your vision and not take a close look at the individual covers, cos the Moonlight Eye Shadow is scarier than Halloween. somewhere out there, i suspect Seiko is having a laugh and toasting champagne.

she got a mini Amazon forest of flower bouquets tho, including one from Primadam co-star Kanda-san, one from long-time Uta Hime/Enka collaborator Akira Senju, but the flashiest one came from the CEO of Universal Music (which I reckon they’ll just dock from her salary). LOL. sorry, i get into a bitchy mood whenever she fails me in the cover art department.

Akina fanboy since 14. Still undecided which are his top ten favourite Akina tracks as it's mission impossible. Digs "Everlasting Love" a whole lot more than the average Akina fan.

  1. It’d be interesting to see the sheer enthusiasm she must hold while explaining those covers to the audience. I can already imagine the ear piercing wave of “eeeEEEH!? SUGOI DESU NE!”s coming from the audience.

  2. And, I used to like the late ’95 hair style at one point, but this seems even worse somehow. Still beats the hideous ’90-91 curls, URGH DON’T WANT!

  3. LMAO. Salary cut. That’s so good. I was surprised by the circus of flowers too. They can afford to do so since she appears on TV … SO RARELY!!!! Thanks to Ranbi who must have defied all orders and stayed at home to watch it too.

I agreed on how unkempt she looks, but if this was live, then it means she just completed a dinner show last night (or two shows actually), and by the time she got home and rested and rushed to come back, I won’t be surprised she looks tired.

Someone mentioned that she looks so glamourous on the dinner show stage, and then so simple on this show. I can’t say I like it, but it’s better than no TV appearance.

As for Seiko, she is so busy going “I wanna go shopping!!, she doesn’t have time to laugh.

  4. Is this a morning show? If it is, I think the look is appropriate. Danny – don’t kill me.

Is this program in youtube or somewhere?
