Still undecided which are his top ten favourite Akina tracks as it's mission impossible. Digs "Everlasting Love" a whole lot more than the average Akina fan. 6 thoughts on “website update” Has it been reported yet what the content of the DVD will be? I mentioned this before. I really don’t think this marketing action is good in long term. One of my guilty pleasure is collection all Akna’s album. However, with this slight different version, it really takes toll out of the fan. With this economy, I definitely will not spend 3,000 Yen for a different piece of paper in the front cover. In long term, this might stop me of collecting all album. What’s the point to collect if I know that Iit’s unlikely that I will have a complete collection. 😦 Reply P, if i’m not wrong, it’s another one of those clips of her studio recording for the album. dun have ur hopes too high. for me, it’s ok if the covers are nice – like Enka’s. but this one. i dunno. i gotta see the actual thing next week. i’ll update you guys for sure! Reply I just love Akina, but this new CD, I really don’t like the CD covers, and I heard most of the orignial songs from the internet, kind of boring selection for me. Hope the next collection will be better Reply I believe the reason why Akina is squeezing in so many appearances on radio and even TV lately is so that they can add these to the DVD. Maybe that is the hope of her fans, but I guess we won’t hold an y high hopes. Tom, I think this collection is a grower, not a shower, if you know what I mean. Looking at the statistics that I provided and what our Japanese fan said, these are songs that they used to hum on bus trips, excursions and such, so they are songs that reflect a splice of life then that are relevant. Is it still relevant today? I can’t really tell. But that is not that important because this album’s target market are not the Ayu or Koda Kumi fans, they are the more mature bunch whom this selection will resonate with. The fact that Akina added “Collection I” means that she is rather confident of sorts that it will be well received. After all, she did pick a rather popular selection from the folk genre. I am personally starting to like the songs the more I listen to them. Even if I don’t understand what they are singing, I enjoy the “no frills” style of folk music. One may say I am getting more melancholic as I grow older, but I think I have learnt to appreciate a wider genre and that it doesn’t always have to be loud to be good. Reply I love the DVD from Enka. I will gladly pay 3,000 or 4,000 yen for a cd with a good DVD added. I hope I like the songs. I hope Akina’s voice is not shot. I wonder what will happen to her throat after all she does to mistreat it. Reply Universal Japan has also updated the Akina page. Note that the DVD is only a miserly 4 minutes. So less content … less disappointment. http://www.universal-music.co.jp/akina/index.html Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply Enter your comment here...
