Gee….I don’t know quite what to make of it. Is that her standing in the middle of the street? Reply Oh god damn it Akina! This is even worse than Folk Song. My first reaction was that somebody had posted some Various Artists collection of whatever 80’s idols that would have very little affiliation with Akina but oh no. This is the real deal then! Now I really wish that profile pic would have ended up being the cover… Reply What the . . . It looks like one of my mom’s pix from the 70’s. What does that building have to do with 氣氛歌謠 ?? Reply Thanks for the pictures. Hmm……. I’m speechless. I don’t mind to have vintage picture in the cover. However, the execution is just not good. I think it’s cool to have a cover that looks similar to old LP but it should be done well so it will look hip. Anyway, let’s hope the music is good. Reply Oh my God.. where did they take that Old Fashion pictures?? where is Akina?? Can someone help me find the Six different spots?? thanks.. Reply Contrary to everyone’s negativity, I think this is heaps better than the Folk Akina covers. I like the 70s concept that she has maintained in line with the Mood Kayou style. It does look like she was photoshopped into the picture and I like the fonts too. Reply And it is rather reminiscent of the New Akina – Etranger” Video cover. Reply I’m with Jamez on this. I’m on the whole VERY relieved to see the cover. conceptually, the art direction is in line with the 70s Kayou she’s covering in this album. the fonts, colours, layout, subject matter and the photography are congruent with the theme. HOWEVER, i am hoping (against hope) that they’ve at the very least got some sense to push the creativity a bit more, to include a DI of Akina (in 70s style) in the cover. this will totally turn the cover from “Erm, Ok, Phew!” to a “Now that’s clever!” i can’t tell from the small shots released right now. but if there’s any chance at all, the most likely person to be Akina in the shot will be the one walking across the road towards us. please let that be her… but if not, i’ll make do with this as opposed to another Folk Song Limited Edition Horror. Reply the concept is fine, but i just think a better picture could be chosen. and, personally i think there’s some problem with the fonts on ‘akina nakamori, and its kanji’; too modern as compared with other fonts on the same cover. Reply hmmm…not bad, it’s 70s. Reply OMG,this is really bad!! I won’t buy this album due to this ugly cover and short length recording(39 mins only!!) Let’s pray the following 2 albums will have a much better quality~~God bless Akina!! Reply Never judge a book by its cover……..or length, as a matter of fact. Who knows, maybe the contents will be surprisingly good and that would be good enough to offset the disappointing cover (for some). Reply To those who feel negative about Akina’s album cover, in my opinions, Akina and her team actually did a good job for the cover to express the essence of the album concept its not difficult to have some sensational pics taken in the studio to make Akina look pretty to boost the sales of the album, however, Akina is always edgy (nowadays) to take her music and art work to a different and higher level i believe that we can say Akina is an artist and not a singer any more Lets listen to the songs from this album that true Akina fans are anticipating and judge by then to see if the album cover actually tells a story about the materials in the album Reply I do agree that I prefer this kind of creative cover to some bad studio shoot. However, the key there is BAD studio shoot. If it’s good, no matter what style or format, it’s still good. I guess my concern about this cover is that it doesn’t scream to the viewer of this art cover ‘BUY ME!’. It looks like just another complilation that you will see many in CD stores. I will not say that I hate this album. For me, it’s ok. I certainly look forward to the songs. Reply i like this cover~it looks really70′ style~GREAT AKINA!!! Reply I think it is utterly superficial to judge an album by it cover (As clichéd as it is). It is a music album, not a photo album, for Christ’s sake. If you are a true supporter of Akina’s work, enjoy the music (even if it is just a 39-min recording, as one lamented). Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply Enter your comment here...
