BREAKING NEWS: NEW MAXI SINGLE!!!!!!!

This is too good to be true!! 3 years after “Hanayo Odore”, Akina will be releasing a Maxi-Cut Single on 23rd September. Not sure which song it’s going to be. But I reckon it’ll be HEARTACHE (remix version will be on Limited Edition Press)

Update:
Single will be “DIVA” (Single Version) – Cool bananas! That means we’ll get 3 different versions of “DIVA”. I think B-side will be “Heartache” then. =)

Akina fanboy since 14. Still undecided which are his top ten favourite Akina tracks as it's mission impossible. Digs "Everlasting Love" a whole lot more than the average Akina fan.

  1. There was a documentary on Japanese TV tonight showing Akina recording a new album of cover versions of Japanese hits. One that I recognized was Iruka’s Nagori-yuki, which she did pretty well.

But she seemed kind of depressed in the interviews, and her voice is gradually fading away, to the point that she whispers half the time.

  2. Yeah, this:

    SONGS「中森明菜 part2」
    中森明菜 <曲目>「異邦人」「恋の予感」「なごり雪」「恋」

    【出演】中森明菜

So this will not become an album?

  3. Kuri, you can refer to our earlier posts for her latest releases. you may have some catching up to do. 😉

  4. I date back to the CD ’87 and Crimson era, and never liked much since then (or her incunabula before then). I’ve bought a few used CDs, but not played them much. But I bought the Nagori Yuki cover from iTunes. Nice!

I did force myself to watch much of that TV drama where she played the ballet school owner. I was blown away at how tiny and insubstantial she is.

I liked this video (My Position live), because she seems cheerful and not as neurotic as she usually comes off as being:

  5. Based on the recent sales figures, I hope they really know now she has to move on to another stage, i.e., no covers any more, at least not now.

  6. Any ideas why she releases 3 albums (氣氛歌謠 , folk 2, and Diva) within such a short time? Not sure it’s really a good marketing strategy. I am a big Akina fan and I’ve bought at least 30+ albums of hers in the last 2 decades, but getting three albums from the same performer seems a bit much. Why is she doing this? Seems a bit strange
