We are less than one month away from the single release of “FIXER – When The Women Are Sleeping -” Not sure if the single cut is going to be radically different. Very excited about it.
In the meantime, here’s our first remix off the FIXER album. It’s been challenging remixing a song which is already VERY EDM. We did a total of 5 versions. Conceptually, we wanted to sample a bit of Little Mermaid Ariel’s voice from this scene but the key just didn’t work no matter how many times we transposed it so we dropped the idea. It would have been nice cos I love the bit where Akina goes “Ah Ah Ahhhh Ah Ahhhhh…” before the final chorus drop. And I thought it would be nice if we could breathe in a little Disney magic in there where Ursula asks Akina to “Sing! Sing for me!” Kekeke.
We also tried a couple of versions sampling loops from One Republic’s “I Lived” but didn’t feel it was as seamless as we’d like it even though it worked ok. Then we tried marching drum beats… and DJan also did his Melbourne bounce thingamaboob which he’s totally into right now, but I didn’t like it on the song at all. Haha. Eventually, we nailed the intro with a little Eureka! See if you can figure it out. 😉
Have fun and let us know what you think! What other tracks would you like a remix of? We’re taking requests.
I made a song cover image which you can grab.
